Principal’s Welcome to Memorial School (K-2)
Dear Parents, Families and Friends,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our 2014-15 school year. As I begin my second year as the principal of James W. Russell School and Memorial School, I remain enthusiastic and deeply committed towards making a positive difference in the lives of the students, parents, staff and Gray/New Gloucester community. Community outreach along with building a strong home and school connection is essential to the success of our schools, and I look forward to working with you as a partner in this educational journey.
I feel fortunate to work in a district which values doing what is best and right for our youngest learners, and as the principal, I will support the high standards, core values, and the strategic plan outlined by our district to provide our students the richest learning environment possible. As an educational team, we are dedicated to academic excellence and meaningful learning. Our district believes that all students can achieve success when academic learning is integrated, individualized, engaging, reflective and fun. The outstanding staff members at Memorial and Russell Schools have received on-going and rich professional development to support our district’s adoption of proficiency-based learning and informed data teamwork. We are also committed to professional development and school-wide events and actions that support our I CARE values.
Our students come first at both schools! Together with the support of Katie Banks, the assistant principal, our phenomenal staff and our amazing volunteers we are confident that Russell and Memorial students learn in an environment that is safe, supportive, rigorous and cheerful. Please take some time to view our district and school website to see the great things happening.
Have a wonderful day…warmly,
Gloria L. Noyes
