Superintendent's Welcome to MSAD 15

Welcome to MSAD #15’s Web page!  MSAD #15 is a school district located in southern Maine with convenient access along the I-95 corridor to the cities of Portland, Lewiston and Auburn. The two communities of Gray and New Gloucester are growing towns with a combined population of 12,000 people.  Each of the towns is proud of their local historical heritage and the District’s five schools and adult education program.  More information about individual schools or programs can be accessed through this Web site.
The education of all our students is a number one priority for MSAD #15. Achievement of our mission, “preparing all students to take the next step”, cannot be accomplished without the active participation of staff, students, and citizens of Gray and New Gloucester. Communication is the path toward involvement.
The District has attempted to create a Web site that is a pleasant place to access information about our schools. MSAD #15 is proud of the work that we do to ensure student success as learners, workers and citizens. As you review our Web site, I hope you find the information you seek about our schools. If you have any suggestions or questions about MSAD #15, please contact me at vburns@msad15.org or call my office at (207) 657-3335.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our schools! I am proud to serve as a leader for the Gray-New Gloucester Patriots!

Victoria Burns, Superintendent

MSAD 15 News/Updates

  • Letter to Parents from the Superintendent - Another school year begins for MSAD #15 students on September 2.   The best times seem to go quickly and that is always the way of summer!  As we welcome students and parents for the 08-09 school year, I want to highlight two new programs at MSAD #15 intended to promote communication and engagement in our schools:  SchoolMessenger and the Middle School and High School Activity Bus.
    SCHOOLMESSENGER
One of the primary goals of the School Board and Administration is improved communication between the schools and home. Beginning this year, SchoolMessenger, a new notification system, will be available to allow schools to quickly and efficiently share information of importance to families by either telephone or email or both. To begin the implementation of SchoolMessenger, administration has selected five message categories: District emergencies; snow days, late starts, early dismissals and general notices. Although notification of District emergencies is not optional, you can decide how you wish to be contacted. You can also access optional notifications regarding the status of snow days, late starts, and early dismissals or be informed about school events through general notices. You will receive more information on SchoolMessenger in the near future.
    ACTIVITY BUS
The voters approved the reinstatement of the Middle School and High School Activity Bus four days a week during the 08-09 school year. The purpose of the bus is to provide transportation home for students engaging in cocurricular and athletic activities after the school day. It is clear that the citizens of Gray and New Gloucester understand the importance and benefits of activities that promote leadership, teamwork, problem solving and health. The High School and Middle School had 910 participants in after school activities last year, and the School Board hopes that the activity bus will provide the opportunity for all students to become actively engaged in school sponsored programs. The Middle School and High School will provide information regarding the schedule and the rules for use of the activity bus. The activity bus will not deliver students directly to their homes but will drop them off at designated cluster stops. Please read the activity bus information when it comes home to determine if this service will be helpful to your family.
