1.         The Flu Clinics for H1N1 were held at all five schools on November 12 and 13th.

I want to thank everyone who organized this opportunity for the health of our students especially our School Nurses, Sheila Giancola and Ann Baiocchi, the Visiting Home Health Nurses and the PTO for snacks and handholding. I also want to acknowledge Kathleen Potter, School Board Member, who helped with the clinics. I will have an additional update on the clinics for the November 18th Board meeting.

2.         Geoff Robbins, Chair of the Wellness Committee, reports that the Middle School and Russell School were selected to receive $200 for completing a Wellness Climate Survey at the beginning of each year to measure the effectiveness of the 5-2-1-0 program (5 fruits/vegetables, limit of 2 hours screen time, 1 hour physical activity, and no sugary drinks) offered through the Barbara Bush Center.

3.         Bruce Beasley, Dunn Principal, has been gathering information from local business organizations regarding the Ò10 most important worker characteristicsÓ for our students. He received feedback from Gorrill-Palmer, Consulting Engineers, PineTree Networks, Cole Farms, and Energy East. When the information is compiled, he will prepare a report for MSAD #15 Ôs Council for Continuous Improvement in Academics.
