It is the intent of the MSAD 15 Board of Directors to comply with federal law in documenting that employees who transport students are free from alcohol and drugs. The safety of students, employees and the general public requires that MSAD 15 drivers perform their duties free from the effects of alcohol and drugs. Drivers who use alcohol or drugs are a hazard to the students being transported, to the public, to other employees and to themselves.
All employees, including drivers, are subject to Board policies and procedures addressing substance abuse. Any employee who operates a vehicle designed to carry sixteen (16) or more passengers, including the driver, is also subject to federal regulations concerning the use of alcohol and drugs and testing for these substances. The requirements of these regulations shall be implemented by the Superintendent, who shall have the authority to adopt procedures and impose consequences for violations of such procedures.
