Athletic Notice
Dear Athletes and Parents:
It is amazing to think that we are just a few weeks away from starting our fall season. I hope everyone is enjoying summer activities with their families. I would like to take a minute to share some information regarding our Mandatory Fall Informational Meeting.
In an attempt to reduce the number of events students and families must attend, we will be holding one information night for all sport seasons. We will meet on September 4th at 6pm in the high school gym. This is for high school and middle school athletes and their parents. At that time we will share with you some new and exciting information regarding our Co-curricular Department. Fall athletes will be able to meet with their coaches after the meeting. We will also be accepting all paperwork, fee payments that night.
We are pleased to welcome USM Professor Janet Whatley Blum, ScD who will provide us a brief presentation regarding Nutrition for Student-Athletes.
The administrative requirements for participation remain the same. Athletes must have the following completed to begin practice:
1. Evidence of a physical examine within the last two years on file in the health office. You can verify this through the health or athletic office.
2. Athlete Participation and Health Questionnaire Form – this form must be completed once each school year.
3. Payment of the $25 Activity Fee. Checks can be made out to MSAD 15 and sent to the Athletic Office at the High School prior to beginning participation. Please remember there is a $100 family cap each year.
4. Soccer athletes must purchase their socks ($5 a pair) and Field Hockey their socks ($5) and goggles ($50).
Fall pre-season for high school will begin on Monday, August 18th. Times will be available through the athletic office and will be advertised in the local papers as the season approaches.
Fall practice at the middle school will begin on Monday August 25th for football and Wednesday, September 3rd for field hockey, soccer and x-country.
We have also added late afternoon transportation. Information and details regarding the late busses will be available shortly through the website. You can also check our website (www.msad15.org) for the fall schedules. Please note these are subject to change.
If you have any questions please call the athletic office at 657-2842. Best wishes for an enjoyable, safe summer. See you in the fall. Go Patriots!
